Lodging and Travel

Travel support is limited, but traditionally we pay half the cost of a hotel room for each participant. Those who share a room with another participant stay free, while those who want their own room pay the other half.

The conference hotel is the Quality Inn and Suites, College Park.
NOTE: Please park only in designated spaces at the hotel to avoid towing charges.

To make a reservation from our block of rooms, do not contact the hotel directly; please contact the organizers at sinai-conference@math.umd.edu with the following information:

In the case of a shared room, please indicate if you know who you'd like to share with; couples please mention if you'd like a room with a single large bed. We cannot guarantee a non-smoking room, but will pass preferences on to the hotel in the order received.

Click here for travel information, including directions to the hotel and the Department of Mathematics, where the talks will be held. Also included is information about parking on campus.

Organization

The organizers for the Spring 2006 conference are Leonid Bunimovich, Dmitry Dolgopyat, Brian Hunt, Michael Jakobson, Gregory Margulis, and Yakov Pesin. If you are interested in attending or have any questions about the conference, please contact the local organizers (Dolgopyat, Hunt, Jakobson) at sinai-conference@math.umd.edu.

The Maryland-Penn State Dynamics Workshop

This workshop has been hosted each fall since 1990 by Penn State University and each spring since 1992 by the University of Maryland, and is jointly sponsored by the two institutions. The Maryland meeting is supported by our Department of Mathematics and by the National Science Foundation.

To be added to the electronic mailing list for this and future workshops at Maryland, send a message to majordomo@math.umd.edu with the line "subscribe dswslist" in the message body.

You can click here for past programs of the Maryland conferences, information on Dynamics and Chaos at Maryland, and the home page of the Center for Dynamics and Geometry at Penn State, which contains information on the Penn State meetings.
